Prompt (verbatim)#

READ and EXECUTE source/good-news-pack/vv/mmv3/learning-path-prompt_iv_LLoL_v1_2026m04d18.rst

What was done#

  1. Inventory completed. Read all key index files across MMv3:

    • mmv3/index.rst (master gateway with toctree structure)

    • mmv3/collection-overview.rst (253 PDFs broken down by section)

    • mmv3/catalog-text.rst (file-level listing with download links)

    • 53 index.rst files across all mmv3 subdirectories

    • Key section indices: Open Letters, Supporting Documents, Flying Scroll, Transwarp Key, Extra Good News, Dusty Deep Data, About, Don’t Panic Guide

  2. Five reader profiles defined:

    • First-time visitor (5 min)

    • Curious investigator (30 min)

    • Serious evaluator (2–4 hours)

    • Scholar / theologian (8+ hours)

    • Journalist (15 min)

  3. Learning paths designed with ordered sequences, reading times, prerequisites, and exit ramps for each profile.

  4. RST page created at source/good-news-pack/vv/mmv3/learning-path.rst

  5. GraphViz dot file created at source/good-news-pack/vv/mmv3/learning-path-graph.dot with ~28 nodes, color-coded by document type, dependency arrows, entry points, and exit ramps.

  6. mmv3 index.rst updated to include learning-path in the Catalogs toctree.

Decisions#

  • Existing “Where to start” sequence preserved. The mmv3 index, catalog-text, and collection-overview all already have the same 5-step intro sequence (DPG → SD1 → SD2 → SD3 → OLs). The learning path respects this as the canonical entry order rather than competing with it.

  • Page marked :orphan: for now. The page is a mockup (MM stability). Once LLoL reviews and approves the structure, it can be formally connected to the toctree and given proper footer/FF treatment.

  • No footer/FF added yet. This is an MM-stage page. Footer form should be added when the page moves to OO stability after LLoL review.

  • SGIR paper included in graph as STa2-WWV node, reflecting current branch work.

Stretch goals#

  • Convert the text-based dependency overview into an actual rendered image (compile the .dot file to SVG and embed it in the RST page)

  • Add estimated page counts for each document alongside reading times

  • Add a “What changed recently” section highlighting new additions

  • Consider a “guided tour” interactive version using sphinx-tabs or sphinx-design cards

  • Cross-link from OL9 (Reviewer’s Guide) to this learning path as a companion resource
