Buy in without money transfer#

Why this page exists#

Money is one way to buy into the #AuditTheMath campaign for averting accidental nuclear winter and the other existential risks that ResearchCity is built to address. But money is not the only way — and for many readers (whether because funds are tight, because the per-person cap in Buy In has already been reached, or just because there are other forms of support you would rather offer) buying in without a money transfer is exactly as welcome.

This page catalogues practical non-financial actions, calibrated to different audiences and scales. None require asking LLoL first — do whichever fits your situation.

This page is a Claude draft commissioned by LLoL

The actions below were sketched at LLoL’s request as a launch-time companion to the Buy In page. LLoL to review, fix, add, or remove items before launch. The list is meant as a seed, not a comprehensive catalogue.

For institutions and billionaires#

If you have a building you would rather not see incinerated by accidental nuclear winter, here is something simple you can do right away without asking anyone: take one of the Wall-Street-sized PDFs from the Flying Scroll exhibit and print it in building-sized format as an outdoor poster on the side of that building, as a public sign of your support for the #AuditTheMath campaign.

The Wall-Street-sized series is designed precisely for this — the 5×10 m combos are scaled for façade-printing. Other large-format options are in the parent Flying Scroll exhibit: banners (1×6 ft and 3×6 ft), individual posters, ZoE flags, the Iron Rod collection, the 12 Transwarp Stadia posters, and the Y3T drafts.

Institutions with archival or hosting capacity might also consider offering to mirror, preserve, or distribute the source PDFs — ensuring that the materials survive whatever happens to any single hosting account. Email FF+institutional-partnerships@balospe.com to coordinate.

For influencers#

The Flying Scroll exhibit materials are explicitly licensed under the Jonah License for re-sharing. Concrete options:

  • Screenshot a Flying Scroll poster at a size that fits your channel format (Twitter card, LinkedIn post, Instagram square, TikTok vertical), and post it with a link to https://balospe.com/en/action/audit-the-math/ or to the Buy In page.

  • Re-share one of LLoL’s blog posts or a Matheo paper with your own framing of why you find it worth attention.

  • Bring it up in conversation with someone whose attention on this matters — a colleague, a foundation officer, a journalist, a policy advisor.

For anyone#

  • Print and distribute small versions of the visual materials as flyers, bumper stickers, or door-stickers. Sources: stickers, banners, individual posters.

  • Tell one other person who you think would care about the work, and why.

  • Send a Feedback Flow (FF) email to any of the page-level feedback addresses listed across the site — substantive feedback is itself a form of buy-in.

  • Audit the math at Audit the Math — finding a real BREACH in the argument is among the most valuable contributions anyone can make.

An open invitation#

The list of possible non-financial actions is essentially endless — the items above are seed ideas, not a comprehensive catalogue. If you find or invent a form that works, please tell LLoL via FF+buy-in-without-money@balospe.com so the idea can be added here for others to use.
